I am going to register for the 5k at Minnehaha on April 26th. Has anyone participated in this one before? I haven't, and I'm curious about it. Are there a lot of hills, or is it a fairly easy run?

I haven't run that race, but I run in that area often. It's almost entirely flat -- there's just a few, very slight rolling hills along there.

I've heard, though, the Get-In-Gear races are very crowded. That applies to both the logistics (parking anywhere near is difficult, and the light rail gets very crowded before the races) and the races themselves - I've heard that it's very dense and hard to avoid some bumping and being bumped by other runners. Again, hearsay, though.

A nearby race that I have done for the past few years is the Human Race, just over the river in St Paul, 6 weeks earlier, and much smaller. Also mostly flat, just a slight uphill for the first half, but downhill for the second half -- it's an out-and-back course, so, if you're a slower runner like me, you get to see the fast people running back down the other side of the road.

Hope that helps .

Yes it does, thank you! I'm not super into the crowds, but maybe I'll try it this once. March is still a little early for me to be outside running, but a smaller race does sound like fun. I'll have to look into it.

Human Race is a lot of fun! Though I think I'm going to swap the Minneapolis St. Patrick's Day 10-miler for it this year.

One of the reassuring [?] things about living in Duluth is that you can rest easy knowing there will always be hills.

[I have nothing constructive to share, but I still felt compelled to respond.]

I've been through there a time or two. I know that! I live in Red Wing where nothing is really too flat, either.
